20th Annual Conference of Vijñāna Parishad of India (VPI) on “Mathematical Sciences and Scientific Computing for Industrial Development” (MSSCID-17) will be organized by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ). The aim of this conference is to provide a common platform for academicians and researchers to showcase their work and to promote interdisciplinary research. Experts in the field of Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Mathematical Modelling, Engineering & Technology, Bio Sciences & Nano-technology, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Industrial & Manufacturing Technology, BigData & Analytics, and beyond will enlighten us with recent developments in the domain.

About the Department

Department of Mathematics and Statistics was established from inception of MUJ. Now it has grown to strength of more than 25 faculty members and 25 research scholars. The faculty provides quality education, promotes research activities in core and allied areas of Mathematics and Statistics. The vision of the department is not only to transform young people to become competent and motivated professionals but also to contribute to the development of the country through research, consultancy and training activities. Department of Mathematics and Statistics had also been actively organized four National Workshops and one Faculty development program. Department has also organized 25th International Conference ‘IMSCT 2016’, FIM in the month of December 2016.



Jaipur is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. It was founded on 18 November 1726 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer after whom the city is named. Jaipur is also known as the Pink City of India. Jaipur is located 260 km (162 miles) from the Indian capital New Delhi. Jaipur forms a part of the west Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Agra (240 km, 149 mi). Jaipur is a popular tourist destination in India and serves as a gateway to other tourist destinations in Rajasthan. The month of November is mild and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 28–30 °C (82–86 °F) and with little or no humidity and cold waves lead to temperatures near freezing.
