Vijñāna Parishad of India
Dr. R.C. Singh Chandel (Orai) with the inspiration of Dr. B.B. Lal (Principal), founded Vijñāna Parishad of India (Society for Applications of Mathematics) having Head Office: D.V.Postgraduate College (Bundelkhand University), Orai, U.P., India in 1971, with a vision of making it a society of International repute and dedicated to the Applications of Mathematics in all fields of Science and Technology. Later Prof. H. M. Srivastava (Victoria, Canada) and Late Prof. J. N. Kapur (Kanpur/Delhi) joined hands with Dr. Chandel and took this society to a new horizon. Vijñāna Parishad of India has a crucial role to play because it is the only society in India explicitly devoted to this goal.
Aims of Vijñāna Parishad of India
To work for the developments of Mathematical Sciences in India
To encourage the interaction of Mathematics with Engineering, Industrial, Medical, Social, Physical, Biological and Computer Sciences
To encourage the Mathematics Education
To publish advanced books
To establish Local chapters (Units) of the Parishad in different Universities
To organize Conferences, Symposia, Exhibitions, Fairs and Workshops etc.
To award prizes to talented students
To honor teachers and researchers of international repute for their outstanding contribution and Distinguished Services rendered to their subject, Vijñāna Parishad of India and National Development by DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD.
Very few Senior Life Members should also be honored for their unique work of eminence and to nominate as Fellows of VPI (FVPI)
