Abstract

The effect of couple-stress on micro-polar rotating fluid layer heated from below in the presence of uniform vertical magnetic field in a porous medium is studied. The dispersion relation has been analyzed, using normal mode and it is found that the medium permeability has destabilizing effect. The rotation, couple-stress parameter and micro-polar parameters have stabilizing effect. The sufficient condition for the non-existence of over stability has also been obtained.
