Abstract
Polymer inorganic nanocomposites (PINCs) thin films were prepared by solution cast technique using two polymers, Polystyrene (PS) and Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) with Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) as filler in different wt.% (0, 0.5, 1, 3, 5). To confirm the presence of ZnO NPs, the samples were characterized with XRD. The dc electrical conductivity of ZnO/P S and ZnO/LDPE was examined as function of filler concentration. In both PINCs samples, the conductivity was found to be increased with increase in filler concentration. The ZnO NPs seemed to be more active in improving conductivity of PS as compared to LDPE samples.
