Abstract
In any organization, human resource is the most important asset to have a competitive advantage over others. It is very important for the organizations to focus on the employee’s motivation and satisfaction to retain brilliant and excellent manpower to improve the organizational effectiveness. For the better experience of job satisfaction, it is necessary to recognize the factors that would affect employee’s job satisfaction. To identify and verify these factors, the researcher has collected large amount of data by circulating questionnaire among the employees of various higher educational institutions of India and investigated the factors that affect employee’s job satisfaction based on Hertzberg’s Two-Factor theory. After analysis, we found that both the factors, hygiene and motivation had substantial effect on the job satisfaction in an education sector.
