Abstract
In the present investigation, we introduce a novel product estimator for population variance in the context of simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR), incorporating auxiliary information. It provides mathematical expressions for the Mean Square Error (MSE) and bias for a first-order approximation. A theoretical comparison of efficiency is conducted against other estimators. To support these findings, an empirical study is performed with a real population dataset, showing that the introduced estimator delivers better performance than the other alternatives.
